A map and ticket redesign for the Queen’s County Farm Museum in Queens, NY

2017

Map design inspired by the craftsmanship and the tradition of hand-making on a farm. As homage to the handmade tradition of quilting, I stitched a physical map together with found materials as well.

A real-world experiment with textures and colors for the map.

Ticket is formatted  as an old farm receipt that could be found on the Queen’s County Farm circa 1697 when it was established.

The ticket also acts as a seed packet so as visitors leave, they can take the experience of the farm and the experience of growing one’s own produce with them. The back of the ticket/packet contains information on how to grow the plants once the visitors return home.
